The Appalachian Fund

There is no greater way to influence Appalachian State University in its entirety than by making a gift to The Appalachian Fund – it’s preserving and enhancing the Appalachian experience for current and future students. The Appalachian Fund combines gifts large and small from thousands of donors to support more than 70 areas across Appalachian’s campus.

  • are unrestricted, which means dollars can be put to use immediately, wherever they’re most needed
  • provide our students with the training, materials, and resources they need to be successful, allowing them opportunities not covered by tuition
  • provide flexible funding to supplement losses in state funds, and allow Appalachian to make sound strategic investments in its future
  • make a big difference, regardless of the size of your gift

Leadership donors to The Appalachian and Parents Fund, those donating $1,000 or more annually, are recognized through membership in The Vanguard Society

"I feel forever indebted to Appalachian for all it has provided for me. Faculty, coaches, coworkers, and peers have all invested themselves in my success. I have seen The Appalachian Fund at work more times than I can count, but I personally have to thank all donors for the opportunity to serve as an orientation leader the past two summers, a program supported in part by unrestricted gifts. The time I spent mentoring 3,000 freshman – showing them campus, making their schedules, helping to build connections – has fostered my personal and professional growth in a way that I could not have imagined.

This summer, I will use those skills to present research in Shanghai, China with the Holland Fellows Program. It is with the help of private donors that I can be a leader at a global level. Never underestimate the difference you can make in the life of a student - every single gift counts for students like me."
